The Benefits of Urban Agriculture
Our work with orchards in urban and suburban settings has placed us on the forefront of Urban Agriculture. We are proud that our orchards enhance neighborhoods and mitigate the environmental impacts of traditional agriculture.
The Opportunity
Our orchards conserve potable water for household and environmental use upstream by utilizing tertiary treated reclaimed water. This nutrient-rich water, when used properly, is ideal for growing crops and is a waste product discharged by treatment plants. Because of our location within the urban grid we can access this water.

Our close location to markets and restaurants in Orange County greatly reduces food miles and the carbon footprint typically associated with fresh fruit and vegetables. The dense green canopies cast by our trees mitigate the urban heat island effect, reducing the energy necessary to cool nearby homes. The orchards are also oases for life that attract all kinds of beneficial and pollinating insects like ladybugs, bees and butterflies–especially during the flowering season! All of this activity and the sight of a beautiful, well maintained orchard adds a serene sense of place a neighborhood and subdivision.
